H2O Walking

AHHHHHHHH!!!!  Feeling so encouraged by another ridiculous gospel rap track.  Now I know why I would never get hired to be a pastor!  I draw my inspiration from straight up ghetto music and not commentary scholarly material. :)

The concept of this lecrae song hit me the other day.  Life and all the struggles were pulling on me very hard.  Not different from you I suppose.  I have always been known to have quite a strong faith, and much has been stripped from me the past 7 years.  It has been tough, it has been difficult and in the reality of what I have been facing in life.... I found myself walking the 18 hole golf course behind my house.  As I walked hole to hole with my headphones on praying, I was inspired by this song.  i found this song at about hole 3 and from there it was simply repeat.  It was about an individual that was facing troubles all around and their attitude towards it.  You know when we are going through, we sometimes need a sympathetic ear, a kind and gentle word, etc....  But what I needed to hear right now was the lyrics.  I am walking on water.  What that means to me is not that I have a special skill.  It means that I am in the middle of doing something that is ridiculously out of my comfort zone, and yes, one more again, God's got my back.  I will only sink if I look at the water.  My eyes are on Jesus.  Enjoy the lyrics below.  Come walk with me!- Stu

Walkin On Water- Lecrae
Go 'head, ask me how I do it, The sky falling, but I'm still flyin' through-it
Hey this ain't willpower, it's wheel power
With God at the wheel, now that's some real power
I feel power, so I'm gon' trust that
That's how I persevere, that's how I jump back
Yeah, the hurricanes never go away
So I'mma stand firm, tell 'em I don't blow away

I bet 'cha never see me with my head hung low
I bet 'cha never see me with my eyes to the floor
I bet the boys can't hold me back no more
Aint no lookin back, letting everything go
When I see a problem, when it get tough
I don't get soft, man, I ain't givin' up
There's no turnin' back, man, I will stay strong
It's time to go hard or it's time to go home
So I'm walkin' on water, hey

I know it's all good, when it's all bad
There's somethin' workin' in me
Hey what 'ya call that?
Some call it perseverance
Some people say endurance
But I know for sure it
It's got me so secure
Yeah, I got faith, that's why I hold on
'Cause I'm an alien, I'm 'bout to phone home
I'll be long gone, see you hard times
Hello joy, love, peace and a sound mind

I spit the Word any time you hear ya boy flowin'
So please plagerize me, take my word for it
Hey I'm Lecrae, but you can call me "Crayola"
Not because I'm in the kitchen whippin' up the soda
But because I'm here to paint a vivid picture for 'ya
I know the truth's hittin' by the way I pitch it for 'ya
You're fightin' for attention, I've got the ritalin
I've got the hope, boy, I'm the middle-man
Let me show you my Supplier, yeah you need to know 'em (Christ)
He got me walking on the water when the wind's blowin'
And when the storm's brewin', and when the tide's high
That's when I lean into the truth that I abide by

When I see a problem, when it get tough
I don't get soft, man, I ain't givin' up
There's no turnin' back, man, I will stay strong
It's time to go hard or it's time to go home
So I'm walkin' on water!
